Mr. Yawson is a Ghanaian and Swedish educated architect and real estate economist with over 25 years’ experience. He has considerable experience in architecture, spatial planning, construction project management, contract administration and community development issues as well as in preparation of feasibility studies.

Mr. Yawson has been involved in the management of various building developments in Ghana, including:

  • residential,
  • health,
  • commercial,
  • religious and
  • civic projects.

He has also been involved in extractive industry planning and architecture-related developments for project-impacted communities. Previously the architecture and planning manager for the Akyem Resettlement Project, Yawson led the SpD team which advised Newmont on Architecture and Planning, Community Development and Influx Management issues as well as project infrastructure issues, amongst others, on the Akyem Gold Mine Resettlement Project. Mr. Yawson, amongst others, led the rollout of developments like the Africa Regional Head office for Newmont, Offices for Petroleum Commission, Ghana, Offices for Tullow Oil in Takoradi and several other projects.

Mr. Yawson holds membership of the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA), Project Management Institute (PMI), and PBAS, a partnership brokering program that helps the development and smooth operation of multi-sector partnerships for sustainable development. His peculiar combined training and expertise in real estate economics, spatial planning and architecture enables him to look at projects in a more wholistic manner than usual.

Mr. Yawson holds directorship in Spatial Dimension Ltd., a multi-disciplinary consulting firm as well as in Global Seismic Ghana Ltd.  A subsidiary of Global Geophysical Inc., a Houston-based Seismic global leader in Seismic exploration for the oil and gas industry.
